‘BLOOM’

A farewell and celebration for Nina K Ekman

On Thursday 29th May, I hosted a truly special event, and I was so thrilled to celebrate with all of you. Scandinavian artist, Nina K Ekman, whose works are part of my Curated Collection, is preparing to head back to Copenhagen after three wonderful years in California. I wanted to mark her farewell with “BLOOM”, a selling exhibition of her art, and accompanied by Danish design pieces from one of the brands I sell here in LA. Each of the pieces I showed are available to buy through my collection and for the event, I styled them by consciously concentrating on bringing in live blooms that complemented the new artworks on display by Nina.

It was truly a memorable evening as we had Nina join us for an Artist talk, giving everyone a unique opportunity to hear about her journey and inspirations. Styled and curated by me, “BLOOM” also featured a curation of Danish design objects from Audo Copenhagen, including sculptural vases that I styled with colourful floristry inspired by Nina’s art. It was wonderful to see so many of you attend and share with me Nina’s talent and her art.

To make the evening even more special, we were joined by the fantastic team behind the Danish Originals podcast, including director Christian D. Bruun and host Tina Jøhnk Christensen. We celebrated their almost one-year anniversary, and the evening was filled with captivating conversations about Danish art and design.
