3 Days of Design

The start of summer in Copenhagen

It was wonderful to kick off my summer in Europe with a visit to Copenhagen for the design fair 3 Days of Design. This year was the twelth edition of the annual summer trade fair and there was a clear pivot towards combining arts and design across the three days in a way we haven’t seen before.

Whilst I was there, I was excited to launch my podcast episode with Danish Originals, and also had the privilege of an in-person interview at Statens Museum for Kunst for AFSMK, which you can listen to now!

Copenhagen, with its vibrant and forward thinking design scene, always provides endless inspiration for me, so it is a fixture in my calendar to go along every year. I’m excited to share some of the highlights from the fairs events I attended, such as at the French Embassy, visiting friends at New Works, and the wonderful time spent at the National Gallery. I also loved reconnecting with the Audo team at the Audo House event, and seeing their new outdoor collection, along with meeting up with more colleagues at Carl Hansen and Kvadrat. I also had some time to attend a fascinating talk at the Akuart showroom with well known Danish, ‘Superstar’ architect Bjarke Ingels!

3 Days of Design is always gives me a chance to reflect on the changing landscape of design and all the amazing creativity within the Copenhagen design scene. From the busy showrooms to the more intimate gatherings, every moment reminded me of my passion for Danish design.
