Leydon Avenue

After some months of design proposal planning, the renovation of phase one for the Charles du Bois, Mid-Century designed 1959 home is now completed. Studio Haslund worked in collaboration with LA based Lorena Pinzon, an Interior Designer and Ceramicist.

Studio Haslund and Lorena Pinzon worked together to create the interior scheme concept and execute the design for the main reception and lounge space, focusing on the central fireplace being demolished and rebuilt in new materials and finishes.

The aesthetic is lead by plaster (stucco) and natural stone, while still focusing on functional seating within the space to bring a ‘wow’ factor when entering the home.

Our team sourced a specific piece of stone from a local quarry, choosing a large travertine rock. Travertine is a sedimentary rock formed by the chemical precipitation of calcium carbonate minerals from fresh water, typically in springs, rivers, and lakes; that is, from surface and ground waters.

For the custom built storage and shelving units, designed by Studio Haslund, a curated selection of objects were chosen to style the unit, emulating the owners paired back attitude towards interiors and the home.
